Description

Flight Operations Officer (FOO) course lays the framework for flight dispatchers also known as Airline Dispatcher, Flight Follower or Flight Operations Officer. FOO assists in planning flight paths, taking into account aircraft performance and loading, enroute winds, thunderstorm and turbulence forecasts, airspace restrictions, and airport conditions. Dispatchers also provide a flight following service and advise pilots if conditions change. They usually work in the operations control Centre of the airline. They examine the mechanic’s reports to make certain that the required maintenance has been completed. The FOO course is enhanced with additional courses to ensure that the student is ready for the job market. These courses are Safety Managements Systems Course, Quality Management Systems Course, Dangerous Goods Regulations course (Function 7.8), Security Awareness Training (SAT) and a special course on office etiquette. What you'll learn in the FOO Course

Requirements

1. At least 18 years of age subject to the licensing requirement of 21 years

2. Demonstrate the ability to read, speak, write and understand the English language proficiency requirements contained in the Second Schedule of The Civil Aviation (Personnel Licensing) Regulations.

3. Have a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Certificate with minimum qualification of a C- or its equivalent. For foreign students or local students holding a foreign qualification and seeking to join an FOO Course must get an Equation certificate from Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) before joining the course.

NB: A prospective student will be required to make an application for the FOO Course accompanied by a resume/CV.
